When God works, people sing. Watchsong, first of all, is the result of God’s working in my life, and my response in words, poetry, and music. Oddly enough, I found that there were many others whose hearts were stirred through my creative outpourings. So little by little I’ve been creating this “hub” where others could have easy access to the songs that my friends and I are writing.

“More than watchmen for the morning, I will wait for you, my God!”

As I was meditating on these lyrics from a favorite song, the name “Watchsong” came to my mind and just stuck there. It captures the aim of this website: sharing new songs to help us fight sin and wait (or watch) for the Lord with all hope and joy, like sunrise in the soul!

    “Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD;
his going out is sure as the dawn;
    he will come to us as the showers,
as the spring rains that water the earth.”
(Hosea 6:3, ESV)

There are a number of other great websites for finding new hymns, music, and media. Click here to see a growing list of my favorite links.

I hope and pray that this site will encourage your faith and provide you and your church with some useful resources.

Your “fellow-struggler” in the fight for joy,

  1. Thank you for your music Paul. I have enjoyed singing it over the years and I get excited when I see your name on a new piece of music. I loved watching this video and seeing your heart behind it. Keep writing!
